Khaberni - The Egyptian national team lost the third-place match in the 2025 African Nations Cup held in Morocco against Nigeria with a score of (4-2) in a penalty shootout after a goalless draw on Saturday.
For the Egyptian team, Rami Rabia and Mahmoud Saber scored in the penalty shootout, while Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush missed.
For the Nigerian team, Okor Adams, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi, and Ademola Lookman scored, while Dele Bashiru missed.
Under the leadership of coach Hossam Hassan, the Egyptian team settled for fourth place, while the Nigerian team took third place under the leadership of coach Eric Shell, benefiting from the massive support of the Moroccan fans present at the stadium, following controversial statements made by the Pharaohs' coach Hossam Hassan.
