Astronomical Calculations Determine the Date of the First Day of Ramadan 2026

Khaberni - Astronomical calculations issued by the astrophysical monitoring and research centers indicate that the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1447 Hijri will astronomically coincide on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.

According to scientific data, the central conjunction of the crescent moon of Ramadan will occur early on Tuesday, February 17, making the sighting of the crescent moon possible on that evening, thus making Wednesday the beginning of the holy month in most Arab and Islamic countries.

It is expected that the month of Ramadan will complete thirty days this year, and thus Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Official authorities confirm that these dates remain subject to the religious sighting of the crescent moon, which will be conducted on the night of "verification" on the evening of Tuesday, Sha'ban 29, 1447 Hijri, urging citizens to await the official announcement to be issued by the Chief Justice and the Grand Mufti of the kingdom at that time.
