Calls to Leverage the Capabilities of the Olympic Team Despite Exiting the Asian Cup Competitions

Khaberni - Stakeholders have called for leveraging the capabilities of the Olympic football team players in the upcoming period, despite the team's exit from the Asian Cup currently held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Olympic team bid farewell to the Asian Cup from the quarterfinals yesterday, after losing to the Japanese team on penalties.
Speakers for the Jordanian News Agency (Petra) confirmed that the Olympic team could have gone further in the Asian Cup were it not for the bad luck that accompanied them during the penalty shots that favored the Japanese team, a favorite to win the title.
They called for the necessity of leveraging the capabilities of this young team, which includes a group of players capable of representing the national first team in the upcoming years.
Coach Abdullah Amarin stated that the Olympic team could have achieved better results in the Asian tournament if not for the misfortune in penalty shootouts, noting that the team includes a group of young players whose technical and physical capabilities should be leveraged.
In his part, former national team and Al-Faisaly club player, Qusai Abu Alia, said that the football association is required to pay attention to the Olympic team players despite their exit from the Asian Cup, especially since there is a group of stars with a promising future in the world of football.
Abu Alia called for working from now on choosing a generation of players capable of excelling and sustaining the achievements that the first team is making during this period, considering that Jordanian football is rich in young and outstanding talents that only need ongoing mentoring and refinement.
In turn, coach Khaled Youssef considered that the next step now is the need to pay attention to the Olympic players despite the Asian exit.
Fan Maher Moussa said that Jordanian football is currently experiencing some of its best moments with the first team's shine in the Asian Cup 2023 and the historic qualification for the World Cup, followed by finishing second in the Arab Cup, which necessitates greater attention to the age group teams to sustain achievements in the coming years.
