Khaberni - The government estimated the cost of constructing the Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium at 200 million dinars, as part of the projects it launches within the new Umrah city project.
The Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium will be the cornerstone of the sports city, covering an area of 1,000 dunams and with a capacity of up to 50,000 spectators. It is expected to be completed within four years, according to the document monitored by "Al-Mamlaka".
The project comes under the quality of life sector, as part of the initiative to encourage investment and partnership with the private sector in projects linked to improving the quality of life, during the government's executive program for the years 2026-2029.
On November 29, 2025, the government announced a new soccer stadium named "the Hussein bin Abdullah II International Stadium," as part of the Umrah city project launched by Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan.
According to the government, the tender for the preliminary works for the international stadium will be issued during the first half of 2026.
Umrah city will include a comprehensive sports city featuring an international football stadium to be completed in 2029, an Olympic city next to it, and halls equipped to Olympic standards for various sports such as basketball, handball, volleyball, combat sports, tennis facilities, athletics, and a car racing track.
The city will also include commercial and service facilities, and will use the latest advanced technologies and modern broadcasting systems, as well as ensure sustainability through self-generated energy, efficient water usage, and optimal space management.
