Egyptian Court Issues its Verdict Blogger Mawaddah AlAdham Imprisoned and Fined 4 Million Pounds

Khaberni - A specialized court sentenced blogger Mawaddah Al-Adham to one year in prison and fined her four million pounds, alongside the confiscation of her personal belongings.

The court, today Tuesday, sentenced Mawaddah Al-Adham to imprisonment for one year in the case where she was accused of money laundering, in addition to fining her four million pounds and imposing an additional fine of 200 pounds, with the confiscation of a car and silver artifacts found in the case.

In earlier times, investigative authorities had decided to refer the blogger to trial, after charging her with receiving money from illegitimate sources and concealing its true nature.

In related developments, Mawaddah Al-Adham is already serving a six-year prison sentence in a correction and rehabilitation center, based on another case related to her appearance in video clips with a minor girl, and publishing those clips on social media platforms.

On her part, Rahmah Al-Adham, the sister of the accused, denied the existence of any financial balances in her sister's name within banks, confirming that the family had to borrow legal fees during the course of the investigation.

Previously, the blogger's family had submitted a report to internet investigations, accusing an unknown person of stealing their electronic accounts and publishing content attributed to her, which included images and clips considered to be against public morals.
