Khaberni - The Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Hossam Abu Ali, called on all taxpayers to take the initiative to submit their income tax returns for the fiscal year 2025 electronically, and to pay the amounts declared therein via electronic payment methods as soon as possible.
He emphasized in a press statement the necessity of filling the returns with accurate numbers and information that reflects the true income, explaining that the submission of returns is exclusively done through the department's website.
Abu Ali clarified that a natural person, whether employees, users, or others, is obligated to submit the return if their total annual income from all sources exceeds 9,000 dinars for non-breadwinners and 18,000 dinars for breadwinners, noting that the monthly tax deduction by the employer does not exempt from submitting the return if the exemption threshold is exceeded.
In related context, Abu Ali urged company owners, managers, professionals, and craftsmen to adhere to the national electronic billing system and issue invoices properly through the system or via electronic linkage with it.
The department confirmed that taxpayers can communicate with the Taxpayer Service Center via telephone, WhatsApp application, or social media platforms to receive support, answer inquiries, and follow up their transactions electronically.
