Khaberni - The Minister of Social Development said that about 249,000 families are currently benefiting from the direct cash support program, confirming that the government is moving forward in expanding the social protection framework and enhancing fairness in delivering support to its beneficiaries.
The Minister added, during a press briefing held at the Prime Minister's office to announce the details of the government's executive program for the years 2026–2029, that the government has decided to increase the proportion of beneficiaries in national employment programs to 15%, as part of its efforts to economically empower families and enhance employment opportunities, especially for the most needy groups.
The Minister announced the launch of the Jordanian Social Registry as a unified national platform, aimed at organizing and integrating beneficiary data, and enabling citizens to benefit from six basic social protection services, which contributes to improving targeting efficiency, unifying references, and reducing duplication between programs.
She emphasized that the Social Registry represents a qualitative leap in managing the social protection system in Jordan, and reflects the government's commitment to developing data-based social policies, achieving transparency, and ensuring fairness in the distribution of support.
The Minister clarified that the executive program for the years 2026–2029 focuses on enhancing the financial sustainability of support programs, and connecting social protection with employment and empowerment programs, in line with the country's priorities in improving the living standards of citizens and achieving comprehensive development.
