Khaberni - The Director of Meteorological Administration, Raed Rafed Al Khattab, said that there will not be snow accumulations as circulated on social media platforms, coinciding with the Kingdom being affected by a low-pressure system and cold weather.
He explained that the Kingdom will be affected by a low-pressure system, with rainfall starting at night in the northern regions, and gradually progressing to the central regions, accompanied by an increase in wind speed.
Al Khattab added, via Ain Radio, that the rainfall during the night hours will be heavy in the northern and central areas, warning of the danger of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, and mentioning the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy hail in some areas.
He indicated that the rain will continue until the dawn of Tuesday, covering the southwestern regions, including the provinces of Karak and Tafilah, but will be moderate during the night hours.
With the deepening of the cold air mass on Tuesday, temperatures will drop significantly, and the rainfall will be accompanied by hail and possible snow showers on the peaks of the northern and central mountains, along with the potential for seeing mixed rain and snow, but he confirmed that snow accumulations will be very limited and restricted to the Sharah mountains.
The Director of Meteorology warned of the strong wind speed, urging to secure objects that could be blown away, to stay away from watercourses, and to avoid risking areas where water accumulates.
He pointed out that the period between Wednesday and Thursday will witness a frost condition across various regions of the Kingdom.
