Earthquake of magnitude 39 hits the Lebanese coast

Khaberni - The Lebanese Earthquake Monitoring Network reported at dawn on Sunday that an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale struck the eastern Mediterranean off the Lebanese coast at midnight.

The network mentioned that the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 35 kilometers, which made it felt in Beirut and several Lebanese areas.

It was clarified that the shallowness of the quake contributed to residents feeling it more clearly compared to deeper earthquakes of the same magnitude, without any recorded material damages or injuries.
