Khaberni - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reiterated on Thursday his rejection of the division of the Gaza Strip, stating that "there is no legitimacy for the occupation's presence in any part of Gaza's territories" and demanding its withdrawal.
He emphasized that the Palestinian state includes "the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem as one geographical, political, and legal entity".
This was stated in his speech during the opening session of the thirteenth conference of the Fatah Revolutionary Council, at the presidential headquarters in the city of Ramallah, published by the Palestinian news agency (WAFA).
The Palestinian President affirmed that the New York conference led by Saudi Arabia, France, and with the participation of Jordan and other countries, is a turning point in the political track, stating that Israel must respond to the world's demands to end its occupation and stop undermining Palestinian state institutions.
Abbas said that the priorities of the Palestinian stance include consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, and immediately bringing urgent aid into the Gaza Strip.
He stressed the "necessity to start implementing the second phase of the plan of U.S. President Donald Trump, which requires the complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, handing over governance to Hamas, and the commencement of the Palestinian transitional administrative committee".
Abbas explained that the committee "must be fully affiliated with the Palestinian government considering the Gaza Strip an integral part of the Palestinian state, which also includes the West Bank and East Jerusalem, to begin the reconstruction without displacement, and paving the way for a political process based on principles of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative".
