Khaberni - Russian security authorities announced today, Thursday, the release of French researcher Laurent Viantier, who had been imprisoned since 2024, in exchange for the French authorities releasing the basketball player Daniel Kasatkin.
The Russian Federal Security Service said in a press release: "Russian citizen Kasatkin returned to Moscow on Thursday in an exchange operation with French citizen Laurent Viantier, who was sentenced to three years in prison for several cases in Russia, and who was recently accused of new espionage charges, an exchange operation was conducted between the security services of both countries."
