Khaberni - Minister of Transport Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin received in his office today the Canadian Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Louis Martin O'Meara, and the two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in various transport fields in the Kingdom.
Dr. Al-Qatamin emphasized the depth and strength of the relations linking Jordan and Canada, stressing the importance of building on them and expanding the horizons of bilateral cooperation, especially in the transport sector, to achieve mutual interests and benefit both countries.
The Minister reviewed the most prominent existing and planned projects in the transport sector in its various forms, including railway, public transport, and logistical infrastructure projects, noting the government's great interest in developing this vital sector due to its role in supporting economic growth and improving service efficiency.
For his part, the Canadian Ambassador praised the level of relations between Jordan and Canada, expressing his country's readiness to support transport projects in the Kingdom and offer Canadian advanced expertise in this field. He also expressed his country's desire to encourage Canadian companies to invest and participate in major projects being implemented by Jordan in the transport sectors.
The two sides agreed on the importance of continuing coordination and consultation, and exploring available opportunities to enhance joint cooperation and translate it into practical projects that contribute to achieving the goals of sustainable development in Jordan.
