Khaberni - Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh said that the Chinese position forms a significant factor in the course of the crisis related to the United States’ arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, warning of the repercussions of this step on international peace and security.
This came during a television interview conducted last night, in which Abu Ghazaleh discussed the rapid political developments in light of the issue, affirming that China would not treat the targeting of a sovereign state's president as a mere internal affair, due to its implications on the international system and its balances.
China issued an official statement in a warning tone, expressing its rejection of the violation of countries' sovereignty and targeting of their leaders, considering that this approach threatens global stability.
In its statement, Beijing demanded that the United States release President Maduro and his wife, calling for respect for international law and advocating for dialogue over the use of force.
The Chinese stance comes in the context of the rapid developments of the crisis, reflecting the role of major international powers in influencing its political and diplomatic trajectories.
