Khaberni - The Southern Transitional Council stated today, Wednesday, that leader Aidarous Al-Zubaidi continues his duties and supervises military and security operations from the city of Aden, following hours after the announcement from Rashad Al-Alimi, the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, on dropping Zubaidi’s membership from the council and referring him to the public prosecution with charges including high treason, forming an armed gang, and committing serious violations against Yemeni civilians.
The council confirmed its continuation in positive and responsible engagement with various political initiatives and dialogue efforts, expressing its deep concern regarding the inability to communicate with its delegation that arrived in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, a few hours ago.
The council explained that a delegation from the Southern Transitional has traveled to Riyadh, headed by the council's Secretary General, Abdul Rahman Shaher Al Subaihi, and membership of several members of the presidency of the council.
The council demanded the Saudi authorities to immediately stop the aerial bombing, ensure the safety of its delegation in Riyadh, and enable their delegation to communicate as a condition for any meaningful and serious dialogue.
Earlier this morning, the Yemeni news agency reported that Al-Alimi had issued a decision to drop the membership of Aidarous Al-Zubaidi from the council, and confirmed that Al-Alimi decided to refer Zubaidi to the public prosecutor for investigation.
The decision of the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council explained that the referral of Zubaidi to the public prosecutor was due to charges including high treason, indicating that the accusations against Zubaidi include damaging the political and military position of the Republic.
