Cyber Crimes for Jordanians Protect WhatsApp in This Way

Khaberni - The Cyber Crimes Unit renewed its warnings to citizens and residents, about the necessity of protecting their accounts on WhatsApp, affirming the importance of taking the necessary measures to protect WhatsApp accounts from theft and hacking attempts.

It highlighted the most important preventative steps that should be followed to protect accounts:

1. Enable two-step verification: Go to WhatsApp settings, choose "Account", then "Two-step verification", and activate this feature that adds an extra layer of security requiring a PIN code when registering your phone number on WhatsApp, which prevents intruders from accessing the account if they attempt to do so.

2. Regularly update the app: Ensure that the WhatsApp application is updated regularly to obtain the latest security features and technical fixes.

3. Link the account to an active email.

4. Do not respond to any messages that ask for or include sharing the verification code or registration code (the code) of the user, as this poses a direct threat to the security of the account.
