10317 Labor Complaints on Hemaya Platform 42 Regarding Wages

Khaberni  -  The number of labor complaints recorded on the "Hemaya" platform of the Ministry of Labor reached 10317 in the first 11 months of last year, according to the inspection directorates report issued yesterday.

The report indicated that 4656 complaints were under the jurisdiction of labor inspectors, 3505 of which were resolved with employers, and workers' rights were collected, while 90 remained pending until the end of November last year, according to Al-Ghad.
Additionally, the number of establishment violations reached 1061, while the ministry's inspectors continued their efforts to resolve individual complaints amicably, and in cases where no settlement is reached, the worker is referred to the courts, especially in cases of termination of service or financial claims not covered by the employment contract.
Complaints about non-payment of wages topped the list with 3783, accounting for about 42% of the total labor complaints received by inspection directorates and departments.
Additionally, 600 complaints related to termination of service for indefinite or verbal contracts were recorded, along with 529 for suspending a worker from work, 398 for termination of service for fixed-term contracts, and 598 objections to a legal action by the institution.
The rest of the complaints were distributed as follows: wage reductions: 294, forcing a worker to take unpaid leave: 63, objections to deductions from annual leave: 109, not granting experience certificate: 684, and lack of occupational safety and health standards: 97.
Complaints against employment offices amounted to 13, intellectual property rights 4, and not giving a one-month notice: 57.
During the same period, the ministry carried out 28507 visits to establishments, including 22 directed at specific economic sectors. The total number of warnings reached 7950, while the number of violations was 5803, all in accordance with the provisions and articles of the labor law.
These figures reflect the ongoing challenges in the labor market, especially in the wages file.
At the same time, the ministry confirms its ongoing monitoring and inspection efforts to reduce violations and ensure the protection of workers’ rights.
