Balqa Governorate Council 81 Completion Rate for Projects by 2025

Khaberni - Ziad Samardali, head of the Balqa Governorate Council committee, stated that the completion rate of projects listed in the council's budget during the last year, across all sectors, reached 81%, with spending reaching 76%.
He added that many projects have been accomplished in the works sector, including road maintenance worth 500,000 dinars, construction of agricultural roads worth 540,000 dinars, construction of a building for the Ain Al-Basha Works Office worth 300,000 dinars, installation of traffic safety elements within the governorate worth 53,000 dinars, renting machinery worth 25,000 dinars, in addition to paying off debts from previous years worth 558,000 dinars, according to Petra.
In the health sector, Samardali referred to the maintenance of health centers worth 240,000 dinars, and the completion of Mahis Comprehensive Health Center worth 230,000 dinars, with the total project value reaching 1.43 million dinars for the years (2023–2025). The projects also included maintenance and purchase of medical equipment for the new Salt Hospital worth 300,000 dinars, maintenance of Shuna Al-Janubiyya Hospital worth 220,000 dinars, and maintenance and purchase of medical equipment for Princess Iman/Deir Alla Hospital worth 150,000 dinars, and maintenance and purchase of medical equipment for Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Governmental Hospital in Ain Al-Basha worth 200,000 dinars.
In the education sector, Samardali highlighted that maintenance was carried out for schools in the governorate worth 395,000 dinars, installing air conditioners for several schools in Shuna Al-Janubiyya and Deir Alla, and maintenance of several schools in Salt Qasbah, in addition to implementing classroom additions for Salt Qasbah schools worth 323,000 dinars, and constructing Sahlooliya School in Ain Al-Basha worth 370,000 dinars, with a total value of 570,000 dinars for the years (2024–2025).
He referred to an allocation of 170,000 dinars for the maintenance of Salt Heritage House belonging to Salt Municipality, 50,000 dinars for the maintenance of Marwan Al-Hamoud Hall belonging to Salt Emarat Institution, and 15,000 dinars for the maintenance of the Engineers Syndicate Park in Zai, in addition to constructing a public meeting hall in Shuna Al-Janubiyya worth 200,000 dinars, with a total value of 450,000 dinars for the years (2024–2025). The projects also included the installation of lighting poles in Suwaymah area worth 30,000 dinars, and construction and paving of roads within Ain Al-Basha district worth 11,000 dinars, and studying the construction of Darar Garden in Deir Alla Municipality worth 60,000 dinars.
In the youth sector, Samardali pointed out the rehabilitation of Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II Sports City worth 255,000 dinars, with the project still ongoing, constructing a multipurpose hall and maintaining the playground of Shabab Aira Club worth 60,000 dinars, studying the construction of Baqaa Club playground worth 100,000 dinars, and maintaining the Southern Tawal Youth Center in Deir Alla worth 13,000 dinars, and rehabilitating and constructing the Zaatari Club playground worth 39,000 dinars.
He said that agricultural roads were paved within the districts of Deir Alla and Shuna Al-Janubiyya worth 395,000 dinars, constructing a bridge over King Abdullah Canal worth 50,000 dinars, and paving and lighting Al Tawal Al Shamali road worth 75,000 dinars.
He referred to the construction of a building and accommodation for the administrative division of Deir Alla worth 450,000 dinars, with a total value of 1.29 million dinars during the years (2024–2025), in addition to maintaining the building of Balqa Governorate worth 50,000 dinars.
In the water sector, projects were implemented to establish new networks and improve them in various areas of Salt Qasbah worth 37,000 dinars, and replacing and constructing sewage lines worth 25,000 dinars.
He added that among the projects implemented last year was also the purchase of homes for five poor families worth 164,000 dinars, constructing a second floor for King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Orphanage worth 90,000 dinars, and maintaining the Ain Al-Basha Comprehensive Service Center worth 10,000 dinars.
In the agriculture sector, a Zai and Allan agricultural center was constructed worth 70,000 dinars, reclaiming lands in the governorate worth 56,000 dinars, and lining and maintaining irrigation canals worth 25,000 dinars, alongside purchasing treatments for combating the red palm weevil in Deir Alla worth 20,000 dinars, and completing the construction of a forestry nursery in Deir Alla worth 30,000 dinars, and maintaining the buildings of the Shuna Al-Janubiyya Agriculture Directorate worth 20,000 dinars.
He referred to supporting cultural sector programs worth 190,000 dinars, and maintaining the Baqaa Cultural Forum worth 80,000 dinars, in addition to implementing a project to develop downtown Salt worth 72,000 dinars, and rehabilitating a heritage tourist trail in Salt city worth 40,000 dinars.
Samardali indicated that the projects in the vocational training sector included purchasing workshop equipment worth 89,000 dinars, and maintaining workshops worth 47,000 dinars.
He also referred to implementing asphalt mixtures within and outside the borders of Ain Al-Basha district worth 75,000 dinars, implementing concrete stretches worth 75,000 dinars, and implementing rainwater drainage lines worth 25,000 dinars, and installing 850 lighting units worth 25,000 dinars.
