Khaberni - Snake expert Yassin Al-Saqqar warns of increased snake activity in Jordan during the current month of April, and the upcoming May and June, coinciding with the mating season, which raises the likelihood of their emergence from their holes in agricultural and open areas.
In a statement to Khaberni today, Saturday, Saqqar explained that snakes are active throughout the year, but this period is considered the most dangerous due to increased movement and their pursuit to reproduce, which requires taking additional preventive measures, especially in agricultural areas and places with abundant weeds and holes.
He called on citizens to be cautious and vigilant, particularly regarding children, and to avoid approaching sites that might provide a suitable environment for snakes, such as the edges of farms and rocky areas.
He mentioned that 3 biting incidents were recorded in Irbid governorate yesterday in several areas, emphasizing the importance of promptly heading to health centers in case of any bites to receive appropriate treatment.
