Saudi Arabia Thwarting an attempt to smuggle over 30000 drug pills at King Khalid Airport

Khaberni  - The Saudi customs "Zatca" at King Khalid International Airport thwarted an attempt to smuggle 38,340 pills of the drug "amphetamine," which were found hidden inside an incoming postal parcel to the Kingdom through the airport.

Hamood Al-Harbi, the official spokesman for "Zatca," explained that a "postal parcel" arrived at the Kingdom through King Khalid International Airport, and when it was subjected to customs procedures and checked using security technologies and live means, the quantity of pills was discovered hidden in the parcel.

Al-Harbi added that after completing the control process, coordination was made with the General Directorate for Drug Control, and the receivers of the seized items were arrested inside the Kingdom, involving two individuals.

He affirmed that the Saudi customs "Zatca," through all its customs ports, continues to enforce customs control over the imports and exports of the Kingdom, standing guard against smuggling attempts, thereby achieving one of the prime pillars of its strategy represented in enhancing the security and protection of society, by curtailing attempts to smuggle such scourges and other prohibited items.

He called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect the community and the national economy, through communication with them at the dedicated security reports number (1910) or via email ([email protected]) and the international number (009661910), where the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the unified customs system through these channels, with complete confidentiality, and offering a financial reward to the reporter if the information of the report is accurate.
