Health Warning for Office Employees Signs Not to Ignore During Work Hours

Khaberni - Health care workers in Britain warn that job burnout can quickly escalate into more serious health issues.

Health care experts at St. John Ambulance encourage people not to ignore these work stress symptoms, as they may be early indicators of bigger problems.

According to "Surrey Life", this warning comes after doctors were asked to direct patients to gyms or employment centers instead of granting them sick leave.

Reports indicate that half of these individuals suffer from mental health issues, such as anxiety or depression.

Job Burnout
Lisa Sharman, head of education and training at the ambulance service, warned that ignoring job burnout and its symptoms could have severe consequences in the workplace, as it can quickly exacerbate serious mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression if left untreated.

She said, "Severe exhaustion is often an early indicator of a problem, but if diagnosed and treated early, individuals can recover more quickly."

Physical Symptoms and Effects
According to "William Hosler Health System", warning signs of work stress include:

Persistent exhaustion: Feeling exhausted even after rest, which affects daily task performance.

Sleep problems: Difficulty sleeping or staying asleep, or waking up very early.

Pain: Frequent headaches, back pain, or muscle pain.

Digestive issues: Stomach upset and changes in appetite (overeating or undereating).

Weakened immune system: Increased susceptibility to colds, flu, and infections.

Long-term risks: Increased risk of heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.

Mental Health Symptoms
According to the "Canadian Psychiatric Association", symptoms affecting mental health include:

Emotional exhaustion: Feeling very overwhelmed, disconnected, or numb.

Irritability and pessimism: Impatience with colleagues and a negative outlook on life.

Loss of motivation: Loss of enjoyment, indifference, and feelings of helplessness or despair.

Cognitive problems: Difficulty concentrating, memory problems, poor judgment, and difficulty making decisions.

Mental health: Increased anxiety, sadness, or even depression.

What to Do
Recognize the signs: Consider these symptoms as indicators of burnout, not just stress.

Seek support: Speak with colleagues, managers, or mental health professionals.

Set boundaries: Learn to say "no" and step away from work when overly stressed.

Practice self-care: Focus on mindfulness, relaxation, and activities you enjoy.
