Khaberni - The Israeli security system has warned government ministers against making public statements about Iran, amidst escalating tensions and vigilant monitoring of developments there, emphasizing that any political statements could cause “significant damage” and push Israel into an unwanted escalation.
Security sources told Channel "12" in Hebrew that directives from the Chief of Staff, following the lessons of October 7, call for preparedness for a scenario of a "sudden war" on all fronts, including the Iranian front, which explains the currently heightened state of alert.
The sources added: "The situation is already tense, and any statement by an Israeli minister or politician about Iran causes significant damage, and what is required at this stage is silence".
This comes at a time when Israel is following the escalating protests in Iran, which have reportedly resulted in about 7 deaths, and dozens injured and arrested, with disturbances spreading to dozens of areas. Reports have indicated confrontations and gunfire by Iranian security forces in several cities.
In this context, US President Donald Trump said that the United States is "ready to act" if the killing of peaceful demonstrators in Iran continues, while Ali Larijani, advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, warned that "any American intervention would lead to chaos".
Israeli assessments clarified that the Iranian regime is not currently facing an existential threat, but the developments remain unpredictable, amidst broad regional anticipation, and warnings that the regime might resort to external escalation or "forward escape", a scenario that the security system says it is ready to deal with.
