Khaberni - A press report highlighted the social and humanitarian role of Liverpool FC's Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah.
According to the Spanish newspaper «Mundo Deportivo», Mohamed Salah donated about 6% of his personal fortune to support charitable works, in humanitarian initiatives extending inside and outside Egypt.
The report explained that a significant part of Salah's support originated from his hometown, Nagrig village, where he funded the building of a hospital and a school, and contributed €383,000 to the construction of a water treatment station, in addition to providing monthly assistance worth €4,000 to the most needy families.
National and educational support
The Liverpool star's initiatives were not limited to his village, as he donated €2.75 million to the National Cancer Institute in Cairo, and also contributed €133,000 to help rebuild a church in Giza following a fire.
The report confirmed that Salah funds scholarships at Cambridge University to support students from low-income families.
The newspaper noted that Mohamed Salah is not just a football star, but an influential figure who makes a positive change in people's lives, based on his continuous humanitarian role.
According to the «Sunday Times», Mohamed Salah ranks eighth in his country in terms of contributions to charitable work.
