Jordanian Handball Achieves Broad Success in 2025

Khaberni - Jordanian handball succeeded in achieving notable achievements on both administrative and technical levels during 2025, witnessing significant development in the level of clubs and national teams.

The federation implemented all its programs aimed at enhancing the technical level, which included local activities such as hosting tournaments for seniors and various age groups, alongside training and officiating courses, with broad participation from players, coaches, and referees.

On the senior tournaments level, Al-Salt team was crowned champion of the First Division clubs league, with Sakib coming in second. The league saw the participation of 7 teams after Al-Ahli withdrew. Al-Salt also won the Jordan Cup, with Kfarnjah placing second, while the Amman team won both the Ladies' League and the Princess Sumaya Cup, with Hartha team coming in second. Amman also won the Super Cup after defeating Kfarsoum, which is an event that features the league champion against the cup champion.

On the national teams level, the men's beach handball team participated in the Asian Championship in Sultanate of Oman and finished fourth, while the cub’s team secured the eighth place in the first Asian Championship held in Jordan.

The junior national team competed in the Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, winning against the Maldives and Hong Kong teams, but lost to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

2025 also marked the conclusion of the four-year Jordanian-German handball project, involving 1620 junior boys and girls, which contributed to enhancing the capabilities of male and female coaches, increasing women’s participation in the game, and integrating refugees into sports and social activities.

In youth categories tournaments, the "Al-Kateh" team won the youth championship for those born in 2006, Kfarnjah won the junior championship for those born in 2008, Al-Nasr team won the cubs championship for those born in 2010, and Al-Kateh team won the promising players championship for those born in 2012. The Amman team crowned champions of the blossoms championship for girls born in 2010-2011. The federation also organized gatherings for promising centers in Amman and Irbid with participation from teams across different provinces.

On the training front, the federation organized an international coaching course for Level 3 (C License), while coaches Mowaffaq Fathallah, Mohammed Fazl, and Hassan Al-Wahibi obtained Level 2 “B License” certification after participating in an international course in Kuwait.

The referees committee hosted remarkable activities, including beginner referees courses at Petra University and the Applied Science University, workshops to elucidate amendments to the international laws of the game, in addition to the referees' participation in the Saudi and Emirati leagues and the Islamic Solidarity Games, with several referees obtaining continental badges.

Administratively, the Jordanian Federation secured two seats on the board of the Asian Handball Federation, with Dr. Sari Hamdan renewed as vice president and Dr. Taysir Al-Mansi elected as a member and chair of the training and tactics committee.

The federation also contracted Montenegrin technical director Zoran Atovitch to lead the national teams in the upcoming phase, ensuring continued technical development of the game at all levels.

These achievements reflect the federation's efforts in enhancing technical and administrative performance and supporting sustainable development of Jordanian handball on both local and international stages.
