Throughout the year, the Public Security Directorate with all its ranks and titles of its members fulfills significant duties and great responsibilities in compliance with the directives of His Majesty the King and his visions in enhancing the security system, which the Jordanian citizen should feel and observe in their home, street, and workplace. Despite the permanence of this role, the responsibilities of the brave men and women of the Public Security Directorate intensify during times different from others, particularly during significant occasions like holidays and the New Year. Today, I can confidently say that all the ranks of the directorate are in a state of emergency to preserve the safety and security of the people, especially in light of the movement and congestion expected in various regions of the Kingdom as people rejoice and celebrate the new year. Undoubtedly, every eyewitness will perceive the significant role in maintaining order and preventing notable incidents or problems of any kind.
We are keen to praise the Public Security, which works day and night, firstly endorsed by the generous royal support from His Majesty King Abdullah II, who emphasizes in every visit to the Public Security that the security system is his top priority because the safety of the nation and its citizens indicates the progress we aspire to, and that feeling unsafe means the failure of development efforts, and secondly, inspired by the honesty and vigilance of its members who have proven through events that they are up to the tasks assigned to them, never faltering or losing their determination falsely.
From time to time, we like to speak about the Public Security Directorate ensuring - after God Almighty - our safety, security, lives, and properties. King Hussein, may God bless his soul, who called the men of the Public Security Directorate leaders, officers, non-commissioned officers, and personnel the "watchful eye," hit the nail on the head with his naming, and this title did not deviate an inch from accuracy. This directorate, which has been around for over a hundred years, never strayed from its mission and has proven to everyone that it is an agency of hope and trust placed by the Hashemite leadership on everyone who carries its emblem above their head.
Loyalty, honesty, and readiness to sacrifice are principles every member of the Public Security Directorate has sworn by, and evidence shows that dozens of its men from different ranks and through various stages of the state's history have sacrificed their lives when the moment demanded, standing against anyone tempted to disrupt the security and safety system, thus their pure bodies embraced the soil. They remain steadfast, continuing the legacy of those who passed and their sincere contributions to the nation and His Majesty the King, unwavering and unchanged.
Heartfelt thanks to every brave man and woman from the Jordanians who proudly wear the Public Security insignia on their foreheads that bow only to God. Today, every Jordanian citizen is called upon to magnify the role of these individuals, and it is not only this but also that each of us should act as a public security officer in the field according to our position, for we are all partners who love, rejoice, and strive with one heart as our sovereign His Majesty the King, may God protect him, said.
