Khaberni - The Egyptian Ministry of Interior revealed the circumstances of the video clips that were circulated on social media, which showed a number of citizens pushing in front of a wedding hall in Qalyubia Governorate, during their participation in the wedding of a content creator, with claims of a fire outbreak in his car.
The ministry clarified in an official statement that upon inspection, it was found that on the 29th of this month, during the wedding of a content creator – who has a criminal record – at one of the wedding halls in the jurisdiction of the Second Shubra El-Kheima Police Department, a number of citizens gathered inside the hall trying to take pictures with him, which led to a situation of shoving that caused some damage to the contents of the hall.
The statement added that 12 individuals responsible for causing the damages were apprehended, in addition to some of them being involved in incidents of harassment of girls inside the hall. The situation was dealt with immediately, and those present were dispersed without compromising security or public order.
Investigations also revealed that the wedding hall referred to was operated without a legal license, and the owners of the hall, numbering four individuals, were apprehended, with necessary legal actions taken against them.
Regarding the car that appeared to be on fire in the circulated video clips, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that it belonged to the content creator's sibling. The latter – who also has a criminal record – admitted that while he was in the car with a friend, the friend ignited a firework inside the car, leading to sparks flying and setting the car on fire. The accused was apprehended, and upon confrontation, he admitted to committing the incident as referred to.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that all necessary legal actions regarding the accused in the mentioned incidents were taken, with the case referred to the public prosecutor to commence the investigation.
Well-informed sources revealed that the content creator known as “Karawan Mashakel” was not arrested in this incident.
