Khaberni - The president of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, received a delegation from the Aoun National Cultural Association, chaired by Asaad Al-Azam. The two sides discussed joint cooperation in the areas of historical documentation and enhancing national awareness among university students.
Abdel Rahim said that Petra University provides an educational environment nurturing creativity, and is distinguished by a sustainable infrastructure and smart facilities that keep pace with technological development, adding that the university strives to graduate students who are scientifically and skillfully proficient, and capable of engaging with the issues of their community and nation with awareness and responsibility.
Abdel Rahim emphasized that scientific research is at the heart of the university's priorities, having achieved qualitative achievements in publishing in international journals, and obtained international accreditations, pointing out that the university directs its research output to serve the community and solve its problems, intersecting with the association's goals in rigorous scientific documentation of history.
Abdel Rahim explained that the university and the association share a strategic goal of building national awareness among the youth and enhancing their sense of belonging, stating that transferring experiences from the generation of pioneers to the youth, and preserving the national memory, is a fundamental pillar for strengthening the internal front and maintaining the inclusive Jordanian identity.
On his part, Al-Azam presented an overview of the association's pioneering project titled: "Documenting the National and Pan-National Role of the Jordanian People in Building Jordan, Defending Palestine, and Supporting Arab Liberation Movements". He said that the project aims to preserve the history of Jordan, highlight the positions of its Hashemite leadership and its people, and immortalize their great sacrifices in defense of the nation and the causes of the nation.
Al-Azam also pointed out that the association aims to collect and archive historical documents and make them available to researchers and interested parties, especially the youth, affirming the importance of partnerships with academic institutions, like Petra University, to support this national effort with the necessary scientific and research expertise to ensure the accuracy and objectivity of documentation.
The guest delegation toured the university's facilities and visited the Faculty of Arts and Sciences to review its educational environment.
The meeting, which was held in "Marwan Al-Dahleh" hall, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Professor Dr. Mahmoud Al-Salman, the President's Assistant for Agreements and International Cooperation Dr. Kenza Mansour, the Director of Public and International Relations Alaa Al-Din Arabiyat, the Media Coordinator Raid Abu Ya'qoub, and several members of the association's administrative body.
