The US military targets a drug smuggling ship in the ocean

In the heart of international waters, where smuggling routes intersect with security influence maps, the US Southern Command announced a new military operation described as precise and decisive, targeting a ship suspected of being involved in drug smuggling activities linked to designated terrorist organizations.

The US Southern Command reported that the joint task force executed a new military strike against a vessel believed to have been used in drug smuggling operations across the Pacific Ocean.

The Command explained in an official statement that on December 29, following direct instructions from War Secretary Pete Higseth, the “Southern Spear” task force executed a strike described as lethal, targeting a vessel belonging to designated terrorist organizations while it was in international waters.

The statement added that confirmed intelligence information indicated that the vessel was navigating known drug smuggling routes in the eastern Pacific Ocean and was directly involved in the illicit transfer of narcotics.

The US Southern Command confirmed that the operation resulted in the death of two drug traffickers classified as terrorists, emphasizing at the same time that the strike was carried out without any casualties among US forces.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts led by the United States to combat transnational drug smuggling networks and disrupt the funding sources of designated terrorist organizations in international maritime regions.
