Khaberni - Israel has withdrawn permits from international humanitarian organizations to prevent them from working in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, claiming that the organizations did not complete their registration procedures to conduct their humanitarian activities.
According to the Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" today, Tuesday, the Israeli authorities have sent notices to more than ten humanitarian organizations, including "Doctors Without Borders", informing them that the permits they hold to work in the occupied territories will be cancelled starting from the first of January, and that the organizations must cease their activities by the first of March.
To withdraw the permits of the humanitarian organizations, the Israeli authorities claimed that some of the organizations refused to respond to the "central demand" of the occupation authorities, which is to provide complete lists of the names of their Palestinian employees for security screening.
The Israeli newspaper claimed that following a security check, it was found that employees of the international humanitarian organization "Doctors Without Borders" were "involved in terrorist activities".
Israel claims that it does not intend to hinder the transfer of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza, and that the humanitarian organizations from which work permits will be withdrawn constitute a small part of the total volume of aid, most of which will continue to be transferred to the sector by other organizations and through their supervision.
The unit "Coordinator of Government Operations in the Occupied Territories" claims that this Israeli measure against the humanitarian organizations will not affect the volume of aid, claiming that the targeted organizations were warned about stopping their activities and have not entered Gaza with aid since the ceasefire began on October 11th last year.
