Khaberni - Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan directed the relevant ministries and authorities to immediately put in place all necessary capabilities to address the damages caused by the prevailing weather conditions, and to continue the state of emergency to deal with any expected weather conditions in the coming period.
The Prime Minister also directed a number of ministers to conduct a field tour in the southern provinces to assess the impacts of heavy rains on infrastructure and to immediately begin its rehabilitation.
The Prime Minister emphasized the need to assess the damages to infrastructure and public facilities in some areas, to provide the necessary allocations for their maintenance as quickly as possible from the emergency allocations fund, and to take immediate measures to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain the operation of affected facilities, especially transport.
He also emphasized the need to continue coordinating efforts among all ministries and competent authorities, preparing teams, equipment, machinery, and placing all capabilities to deal with the prevailing weather conditions.
He pointed out that the good rainy season and the blessings of rain have increased the water reserves of the kingdom, which bodes well for a good agricultural and water season, while at the same time stressing the need to continue monitoring dams and water storage sites and dealing with any abnormal conditions that may arise due to atmospheric depressions and regional and global climate change.
He also pointed to the necessity of continuing awareness campaigns and seriously dealing with the warnings issued by the relevant authorities, especially for citizens living in areas most prone to floods; to ensure their safety and prevent damage and accidents, God forbid.
