King Dam Storage Rate at 52

Khaberni - The storage rate in King Talal Dam has been about 52% since the beginning of the rainy season up to date, according to the Governor of Jerash, Malek Khreisat.

Khreisat said on Monday that the amount of water that entered King Talal Dam since Monday morning until now amounts to about 3 million cubic meters, indicating that the amount of rainfall that entered the dam since the beginning of the current rainy season has reached about 4.5 million cubic meters, according to Al-Mamlaka.

He added that the amount of water that entered the dam during the previous rainy season was about 10 million cubic meters, pointing out that the current season is promising.

Khreisat explained that the total capacity of King Talal Dam is 67 million cubic meters.

He noted that there is coordination with the five municipal chambers in the governorate, namely Greater Jerash Municipality, Al-Maraaz, Bab Amman, Al-Naseem, and the operations room at Jerash Police and Civil Defense Directorate, to ensure quick response and dealing with any emergencies.

Khreisat clarified that all the municipal staff are present in the field to open water drainage manholes or deal with any rise in water levels, pointing out that Jerash police and traffic police have been facilitating traffic movement within the governorate since the beginning of the weather depression.
