Khaberni - Ma'an government hospital received 130,884 visitors for emergencies and accidents, while the number of outpatient clinic visitors was 85,620, during the year 2025, bringing the total number of visitors to 216,504, according to hospital data.
Hospital director Dr. Walid Al-Rawad said on Monday that the hospital has seen a significant increase in visitor numbers, reflecting the growing pressure on healthcare services and the local community’s trust in the provided services, in addition to being the only government hospital in Ma'an province.
Al-Rawad confirmed that the hospital continues its efforts to provide distinguished health services, and deliver high-quality healthcare to citizens despite challenges, in line with plans aimed at enhancing the level of services provided.
He noted that one of the most significant achievements this year was the completion of the hospital's new expansion project, which includes constructing a new building for the outpatient clinics and the blood bank, covering a total area of 5,154 square meters. He mentioned that the building will be delivered and operational by the end of the first quarter of 2026.
He explained that the project includes constructing a modern building that accommodates the outpatient clinics, blood bank, warehouses, laboratory, radiology department, in addition to offices for the administration, contributing to the development of the healthcare infrastructure.
He indicated that the hospital was supplemented with doctors specializing in rare fields such as cardiology, gastroenterology, and endocrinology & diabetes, noting that these services are provided one day a week, enhancing the range of specialized services offered to patients.
He said that the hospital has included in its developmental plan for the coming year the complete overhaul of the infrastructure, continuation of the construction of a cardiac catheterization unit, recruitment of rare medical specialties including neurology, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular surgery, alongside strengthening partnerships with the local community and the private sector, and moving towards digital transformation and electronic medical records.
He pointed to the plan to utilize the field hospital as a specialized children's hospital that includes patient rooms, clinics, emergency services, and all necessary services for children's care.
He mentioned that the hospital is continually developing its treatment services, focusing on providing advanced and innovative healthcare that contributes to enhancing the quality of life for the community, using the latest medical devices to treat various diseases, alongside training and qualifying medical staff, and working on improving the treatment environment to make it more comfortable and supportive psychologically for the patients.
