Petra University and the Institute of Banking Studies signed a joint memorandum of cooperation aimed at enhancing the training of graduate students and qualifying them in banking and financial fields, in keeping with labor market demands and the rapid developments in business models and modern financial technology.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of Petra University by the Dean of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences, Dr. Suheir Al-Jaghoub, while it was signed on behalf of the Institute of Banking Studies by its Director, Dr. Riad Al-Hindawi.
The President of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, had received a delegation from the Institute of Banking Studies in his office, where he welcomed the joint cooperation, affirming the university's commitment to building strategic partnerships with specialized national institutions, contributing to enhancing student efficiency and connecting the outcomes of academic education with practical application. At the end of the meeting, the university president presented Dr. Riad Al-Hindawi with the university's commemorative shield.
His Excellency the Director of the Institute of Banking Studies, Dr. Riad Al-Hindawi, confirmed that the cooperation agreement with Petra University embodies the Institute's commitment to establishing effective strategic partnerships with academic institutions, in line with national orientations aimed at aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs. He added that the agreement aims to qualify university students and provide them with the necessary banking and professional skills, contributing to the preparation of qualified youth cadres to support the financial and banking sectors, and to achieve a significant positive impact in enhancing the efficiency and performance of institutions in this sector in Jordan.
Dr. Al-Hindawi pointed out that the memorandum of understanding relies on training courses, professional diplomas, and international professional certificates offered by the Institute, to replace field training for Petra University graduates, in addition to announcing field training opportunities in banks and financial institutions for students who successfully complete these programs, if available.
The memorandum also stipulates joint coordination in adopting the titles of training programs, their content, and the number of their hours, and disseminating them to the students, alongside the exchange of information and the appointment of liaison officers from both sides, to ensure the proper implementation of the agreement terms.
It is noted that the Institute of Banking Studies was established by the law of the Central Bank of Jordan, and is a leading entity in the field of banking and financial professional training and development, while this memorandum comes as part of Petra University's efforts to enhance quality training opportunities for its students and support their professional readiness before entering the labor market.
The cooperation memorandum is valid for two Gregorian years from the date of its signing and is automatically renewed unless one of the parties notifies the other of the desire not to renew, according to the terms of the agreement.
