Khaberni - The head of the Islamic Action Front party block, MP Saleh Al-Armouti, during a discussion session on the draft amendment to the Awqaf Law, called on the Minister of Awqaf to clarify what is meant by the term "corners".
Al-Armouti called for the deletion of the term if it does not refer to the Sufi corners, which he described as sources of purity and honesty.
Al-Armouti criticized the disruption of the Fatwa Council in the ministry, calling for the enablement of scholars and granting them enough freedom to guide people without restrictions or summons due to jurisprudential deliberations.
He stressed that the role of the religious scholar must be performed with complete independence to serve the society.
Response to the occupation's threats to cut off water
In an angry and poignant intervention, MP Al-Armouti responded to the Zionist statements aimed at cutting off water supplies to the kingdom, saying: "God has showered us with rain, and the streets were flooded."
Al-Armouti continued praying against the occupation leaders saying: "May God cut their necks off," affirming his rejection of any extortion policy practiced against Jordan in its water security.
Response from the Minister of Awqaf
For his part, the Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, clarified that the term "corners" is legally defined and belongs to the Sufi paths.
He pointed out that a special system has been issued that regulates the affairs of "Takayas and corners", explaining that the Takayas are an administrative concept, while the corners have a specific legal entity.
