The Independent Entity informs the Deputies Hamza AlToubassi replaces AlJarrah as deputy

Khaberni - The head of the board of commissioners of the Independent Election Commission, Musa Al-Maaytah, informed the House of Representatives that Hamza Hani Al-Toubassi will be the new deputy in the council, after the seat of deputy Mohammad Al-Jarrah became vacant.

Al-Maaytah said in his letter sent to the chairman of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, "Referring to your letter number 405/20/5 dated 2026/2/11, which included notifying the authority about the vacancy of the seat of the Labor Party deputy Mohammad Ahmed Ali Al-Jarrah, and based on the provisions of paragraph (3) of Article (58) of the Election Law for the House of Representatives No. (4) of 2022 and its amendments, it was decided by the board of the Independent Election Commission in its decision No. (4) dated 2026/2/11 to consider the next candidate from the same category and list, Mr. Hamza Hani Mohammad Khalil."

According to the House of Representatives, Hamza Al-Toubassi will, next Monday, take the constitutional oath as a member of the House of Representatives pursuant to the provisions of Article (80) of the Constitution verbatim without addition or omission.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Administrative Court supported the decision of the Administrative Court to dismiss Deputy Mohammad Al-Jarrah from the Labor Party, as the decision of the Supreme Administrative Court is a final decision that is not subject to appeal or reversal.

According to Article (58/4) of the Election Law for the House of Representatives No. (4) of 2022, it stipulated, "If the deputy who won on the party list resigns from the party to which he belongs, or is dismissed by a decision that has acquired finality, his seat shall be filled by the next candidate from the same list on which he won, and if this is not possible, the seat shall be filled directly from the next list, within the arrangement stipulated in this law."

Regarding the existence of an appeal submitted by the candidate who will replace Al-Jarrah concerning the decision of his previous dismissal from the party among a group of members, the authority clarified that the appeal is still pending before the judiciary, and that the candidate is legally considered a party member until a final decision is issued, as was the case with Al-Jarrah before the final judgment against him was issued.
