7 Turkish police wounded in clash with ISIS video

Khaberni - The official channel (TRT News) reported that 7 members of the Turkish police were wounded during a clash with gunmen suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS in the Yalova area, northwest Turkey, today Monday.

The channel added that police teams carried out an operation on a house believed to be housing gunmen near the town of Yalova, on the coast of the Sea of Marmara, south of Istanbul.

The channel noted that the condition of the injured policemen is not serious.

The channel (NTV) reported that the suspects fired on the police during the operation.

Special police forces were sent from the region of Bursa to the area to provide support, according to authorities.

Last week, Turkish police arrested 115 people suspected of belonging to the terrorist organization ISIS, alleging that they were planning to carry out attacks during Christmas and New Year's celebrations in the country.

The Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office reported at the time that the gunmen were planning attacks specifically targeting non-Muslims.

About a decade ago, a series of attacks on civilian targets in Turkey, including an armed attack on a nightclub in Istanbul and the city's main airport, which resulted in dozens of deaths, were attributed to the extremist organization.
