Netanyahu Angry at Israeli Generals Comments on Hezbollahs Strength

Khaberni  - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his anger at statements by the commander of the Northern Command, Rafi Milo, who expressed his surprise at the strength of the Lebanese Hezbollah during a meeting of the small political-security cabinet (the cabinet).

According to what was reported by Israel Hayom -yesterday Monday- the cabinet meeting -last Sunday evening- saw a consensus at both the political and military levels regarding the continuation of the war in Lebanon, regardless of any progress on the Iranian scene.

During the meeting, Netanyahu angrily banged on the table saying, "Since when do generals give briefings?", in the context of discussing recent military statements.

In the same context, Minister of Transportation Miri Regev asked the army representatives about the statements made by the commander of the Northern Command regarding the Israeli army's amazement at Hezbollah's capabilities after operation "Northern Arrows".

Channel 12 of Israel reported -last Saturday- that the commander of the Northern Zone said -in a leaked recording of a private conversation with residents of the Misgav settlement in northern Israel- that the military establishment was surprised by Hezbollah's ability to rebuild its strength after the recent war.

On the other hand, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said, "The ultimate goal is to disarm Hezbollah by all military and political means."

Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir claimed that he was surprised by the low level of Hezbollah's combat capacity, both in terms of motivation and capability, adding "we found out that the strength of Al-Ridwan (the elite forces in Hezbollah) is not that dangerous."

He noted -during the cabinet meeting- that "there will be no residents hostile to Israel in the region up to the Litani, nor even any civilians."

It should be noted that the Israeli aggression on Lebanon expanded on March 2 last, after the United States and Israel -on February 28- started a continuing war on Iran, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries.

This came following an attack carried out by Hezbollah on an Israeli military site, in response to Tel Aviv's ongoing attacks on Lebanon and the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
