Strong Earthquake Hits the Philippine Sea

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 on the Richter scale in the Philippine Sea near the coast of Okinawa, Japan.

The statement issued by the center mentioned that the earthquake occurred on Saturday evening at 11:05 PM local time.

The statement added that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 68 kilometers, and it was felt by residents in wide areas.

According to seismic monitoring centers, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 was reported 76 kilometers southeast of Taipei, Taiwan.

In this context, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported an earthquake of magnitude 6.7, 76 kilometers southeast of Taipei, Taiwan.

The earthquake occurred at an average depth of 59.70 kilometers under its center near Taipei.

Seismic monitoring services detected a second report from Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau (CWB) indicating that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.0.

As of now, there is no information on any injuries or damage due to the earthquake.
