Method of Preventing the Development of Varicose Veins

Khaberni - Dr. Andrei Kondrakhin, lecturer at the Institute of Pharmacy and Medical Chemistry at Pirogov Medical University, indicates that cold water bathing may help in preventing varicose veins.

According to the doctor, cold water bathing assists in improving blood circulation and may be beneficial in preventing varicose veins.

He says: "Cold baths are a form of natural therapy, positively affecting the skin, blood vessels, and circulation, improving skin elasticity, and enhancing comfort. They can be useful in the early stages of varicose veins, where the initial signs of changes can be effectively treated in this way. However, the baths should be cold and not icy to avoid feeling frozen, and their duration should not exceed five minutes."

He added that this method also serves as a gentle exercise for body thermoregulation mechanisms, allowing the body to respond quickly and effectively to changes in the surrounding environment.

Kondrakhin warned that overuse or prolonged use of very cold water might lead to health problems, emphasizing the need for a balanced and thoughtful approach, and advising consultation with a doctor before relying on this method in daily routine.
