Gemini to soon handle commands in the background while you are using other apps

The use of the Gemini interface on the Android system currently suffers from a major flaw that hinders multitasking smoothness. Specifically, when activating "Gemini" using the keyword or by long-pressing the power button, the smart assistant appears over the app you are currently using.

Although it appears as a floating interface, the smart assistant does not function in this way. The moment you press to return to another app, "Gemini" completely closes. Reopening it results in the conversation disappearing, forcing the user to start over, making lengthy or slow tasks a frustrating experience.

Google, the developer of Gemini, is currently working on a solution to this problem. The latest beta version of the Google app indicates a redesign of the Gemini interface so that it does not disappear when left, according to a report by "Android Authority," a website specialized in technology news.

In this way, Gemini can continue to operate in the background while the user continues using other apps.

You can issue a command to Gemini, switch to another app while the smart assistant processes it, and then return to the same conversation as soon as the reply is ready by tapping Gemini's floating button.

This allows the user to navigate between apps, add context from other apps, and enhance your request without needing to reset the conversation each time. When finished, you can completely close the Gemini interface with a simple swipe.

This feature is still in beta testing, so it may be subject to change. However, if launched as expected, this update will address what users find most annoying in the Gemini interface, finally enabling them to manage background tasks the way they expect.

This upcoming update is also in line with Google's broader efforts to make Gemini faster and more useful on the Android system.
