Khaberni - Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya announced at a press conference today, Wednesday, at the Libyan Chief of Staff's plane crash site, Major General Mohamed Ali Haddad, the discovery of the black box and the plane’s voice recorder, confirming the deaths of all 8 passengers.
The Turkish Minister indicated that the Libyan plane’s crew had reported an electrical malfunction before the crash, noting that the voice recorder and the black box are being examined to determine the cause of the crash.
He added: "Libya has sent a team of about 29 people to participate in the investigations of the plane crash."
The minister also stated that the bodies of the victims of the Libyan plane have been found, and samples have been taken to verify their identities.
He confirmed that comprehensive investigations of the accident are being conducted, taking everything into account, adding, "We will continue our procedures and investigations in a transparent and clear manner, and everything we find out in the investigations will be announced to the public."
Earlier today, the Turkish Presidency reported that the plane carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohamed Ali Haddad, which crashed near the capital Ankara, had informed the air traffic control center of an electrical malfunction and requested an emergency landing.
This was stated by the head of the communication department of the Turkish Presidency Burhaneddin Duran, in a post on the Turkish platform "In Social" last night, Tuesday.
Duran said: "A private plane carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohamed Ali Ahmad Haddad, and4 accompanying persons and three crew members, took off from Esanboga Airport at 20:17, and at 20:33 informed the air traffic control center of an emergency due to an electrical malfunction and requested an emergency landing."
Duran noted that the air traffic control center redirected the plane to Esanboga Airport, pointing out that the airport had taken the necessary measures in this regard.
He noted that the plane began the emergency landing and disappeared from radar screens at exactly 20:36, and there has been no communication with it since then.
Duran confirmed that the wreckage of the plane was reached after search operations conducted by teams affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, emphasizing that all relevant institutions continue their necessary procedures with utmost precision.
Duran urged reliance only on official statements in this regard, highlighting the importance of disregarding unconfirmed information and speculation and conspiracy theories on social media and avoiding giving credibility to attempts at misinformation.
And last night, Tuesday, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya announced the arrival at the wreckage of the plane carrying the Libyan Chief of General Staff and4 other people.
