Khaberni - The Ministry of Education has finalized its preparations for the General Secondary Education Certificate exam for the year 2025/ the supplementary exam, which will begin its first session next Saturday, the twenty-seventh of this month, and will end on Saturday, the seventeenth of January next year.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Azmi Mahafza, affirmed during his chairing of the expanded planning committee meeting today, Sunday, attended by the Ministry’s Secretary Generals for Educational Affairs Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh, Administrative and Financial Affairs Sahar Shakhatreh, and Vocational and Technical Education Affairs Dr. Mohammad Ghaith, and the directors of departments at the ministry center and directors of education and military culture and the UNRWA agency, that the teams in the center and the field have implemented the preparedness plan at the highest levels of professionalism and responsibility to ensure early readiness for the exam.
He directed the exam supervisors to deal with students in a paternal spirit, and to provide the suitable psychological environment for taking the exam with ease and comfort.
He added that the ministry has formed teams to inspect the readiness of the halls where the exam will be held, as well as the correction centers, where the ministry has worked to prepare the appropriate exam environment to meet the students' needs such as: drinking water, suitable heating, adequate ventilation and lighting, providing them with comfortable seats suitable for students' sizes and their writing styles, signposts, and all the necessities that help them perform the exam with ease and comfort.
He noted that the ministry has tasked examination personnel including heads of halls, assistants, and observers who are reputable and competent, and trained them on implementing the regulations for conducting the exam.
He pointed out that the ministry has considered the needs of students with disabilities, in terms of easy access to the hall, that the exam room is on the ground floor, providing passages according to their specific building codes, among other requirements of an appropriate exam environment for each disability.
He added that the ministry has equipped operations rooms in the center and the field to receive observations and inquiries about the conduct of the exam from students, teachers, parents, and all personnel involved in conducting the exam, noting that this will be done in partnership and coordination efficiently and effectively with supporting institutions; including the Ministry of Interior with its various agencies, the Ministry of Health, and the media.
He renewed the ministry's confidence in its staff involved in conducting the exam as planned, appreciating the significant efforts made during the preparation and conduct of the exam.
A total of (131381) participants will take the exam; among them (116714) who have not completed the success requirements, and (14667) students aiming to improve their grades, distributed across academic and vocational education branches, while the exam will be held in (529) examination centers in educational directorates; including (1249) examination halls, plus (42) reserve halls; one reserve hall per directorate, while the number of correction centers reached (38) centers distributed in all provinces of the kingdom.
Distribution of students according to educational branches is as follows: eleventh academic (37437), scientific (42274), literary (40468), Shari’a (116), industrial (3740), agricultural (2422), hotel and tourism (887), home economics (4037).
A total of (140) participants will take the exam in correction and rehabilitation centers and juvenile centers distributed in (15) halls, while (3) participants will take the exam at the King Hussein Cancer Center, and (422) participants with disabilities distributed as follows: the deaf (115), the blind (37), mobility disabilities (113), cerebral palsy (64), and low vision (93).
The meeting included discussions on a number of important educational issues, notably: digital transformation (Ajyal platform, and Saraj personal assistant); where Dr. Mahafza emphasized the necessity of using the platform to regularly monitor student attendance, and to include all initiatives on the platform which will be officially launched next April in all schools in the kingdom, while the use of Saraj personal assistant in the educational process saw a significant increase especially during the exam period.
