The absence of the artist Ahmed El Fishawy from his mother's funeral, the artist Soumaya El Alfi, raised widespread questions within the artistic community and among her fans, coinciding with the mourning that overshadowed the artistic scene on Saturday morning following her departure.
The funeral of the late artist was held amid a notable attendance of a large number of stars from the arts and media, who made sure to offer their condolences to Omar Farouk El Fishawy, the deceased's son, while the absence of his brother, artist Ahmed El Fishawy from the funeral rites was noted, opening questions about the reasons for his absence.
According to statements by screenwriter Mohamed Salah El Azb, the reason for Ahmed El Fishawy's absence from the condolences is due to his being abroad, specifically in the United States, and he is expected to return to Cairo later this evening.
Ahmed El Fishawy is scheduled to attend his mother's condolence meeting, which is to be held next Monday at Omar Makram Mosque in downtown Cairo.
The artist Soumaya El Alfi passed away on Saturday morning in one of the hospitals in the Engineers area, at the age of 72, after a long artistic career during which she presented distinguished works in cinema and drama, leaving a clear mark with the audience.
The deceased formed one of the well-known love stories in the artistic community through her marriage to the late artist Farouq El Fishawy, and she had two sons, Omar and Ahmed, with him, and her name was associated with a human and artistic experience that received extensive appreciation from colleagues and fans.
The last appearance of the artist Soumaya El Alfi before her departure was during her presence in the backstage of the shooting of the movie "The Serial Killer of El Tagamoa," starring her son Ahmed El Fishawy, where she made sure to follow his scenes and support him in the work's backstage just weeks before her death.
