Khaberni - It is anticipated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will be meeting American President Donald Trump towards the end of this month in Florida. Israeli officials have expressed their “increasing concern over Iran expanding its ballistic missile program, which was affected by Israeli military strikes in June of last year.”
Israeli officials and others in the US revealed that Netanyahu will brief Trump on options to attack Iran again, as reported by NBC News today, Saturday.
Urgent Action
The Israeli guest will also attempt to convince Trump that this Iranian expansion in the ballistic missile program poses a threat and calls for urgent action.
Moreover, the sources added that Netanyahu's argument will focus on how Tehran's actions pose risks not only to Israel but also to the broader region, including American interests.
It is also expected that Netanyahu will present options for the United States to join or assist Israel in any new military operations.
However, former Israeli officials believe that Trump may be less enthusiastic about launching new military action against Iran if the disagreements between American and Israeli officials over Netanyahu's approach to the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip continue.
Meanwhile, a White House spokesperson clarified that the American President had previously declared that if Iran pursues nuclear weapons, it will be targeted, as relayed by NBC.
This information comes amid escalating tensions also between Washington and Caracas, with Trump not ruling out the military option against Venezuela.
It also follows after America launched concentrated strikes in June of last year targeting key nuclear facilities inside Iran, while Israel hit many military sites and missile manufacturing centers.
