A report by Business Insider indicated that Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet, advised some of its employees with U.S. visas to avoid international travel due to long delays at U.S. embassies and consulates which can extend up to 12 months.
The internal memo clarified that international travel carries the "risk of staying for an extended period outside the United States," especially for those who need to have their visa stamped upon return. This follows an announcement from President Donald Trump's administration about increased scrutiny for H-1B visa applicants, including the review of their social media accounts.
