A video that surfaced in the past few hours alleges that the Al-Nashama players refused to shake hands with the coach and players of the Moroccan national team during the award ceremony following the final of the Arab Cup, which was won by the Moroccan team.
The circulated video shows the Jordanian national team players seemingly ignoring the Moroccan national team’s coach, which sparked widespread controversy on social media.
However, activists shared another video of the award ceremony that clarifies what actually happened.
The video reveals that the Moroccan national team players and their coach formed an honor guard for the Jordanian national team players, and the Moroccan team coach stood at the start of the path, where Jordanian players shook hands with their Moroccan counterparts normally.
It also appears that the Moroccan national team coach extended his hand in front of the Jordanian players to organize their turn in ascending to the podium, allowing one player to pass while asking another to wait briefly until it was their turn to go up.
Another video clip also showed the Jordanian players normally shaking hands with their Moroccan counterparts, as well as a handshake and hug between the coach of Al-Nashama and the coach of the Moroccan national team.
