Jordanian player Saleem Obeid apologized after the incident of not shaking hands with the national team players to Moroccan team coach Tareq Sektioui, which sparked controversy on social media.
Obeid wrote on his Instagram page the following clarification:
Just to clarify:
The incident that happened with the Moroccan team coach Captain Tareq was not intended at all and it does not represent our morals as Jordanians
We offer an apology to the captain, and he has all our love, respect, and appreciation
Congratulations on the win to the brotherly Moroccan team.
This apology comes after the incident of some national team players not shaking hands with Moroccan team coach Tareq Sektioui, during the honor passage organized by the Moroccan team for the Nashama during the celebration, which sparked a wide wave of controversy on social media.
The Jordanian team lost on Thursday night to Friday in the thrilling final of the Arab Cup against the Moroccan team by three goals to two.
