Khaberni - The sports network "beIN SPORTS" announced that Chilean referee Cristian Garay decided to postpone the match between Saudi Arabia and UAE held at "Khalifa International Stadium", in the third-place and bronze medal match at the Arab Cup 2025 currently taking place in Qatar, until further notice.
The Qatari capital, Doha, has been experiencing heavy, continuous rain for several hours, which led the match referee to postpone the start of the second half until the weather conditions improve, noting that the first half ended in a goalless draw.
The match had been rainy from the start, but the first half was carried out normally, after which the referee blew the halftime whistle, and the players headed to the locker room.
Between the halves, the intensity of the rain increased, which led players from the Saudi and UAE teams to speak with the match referee about the difficulty of playing in such conditions, prompting everyone to return to the locker room, where they were preparing to perform warm-up operations before the beginning of the second half.
