Israels Foreign Minister to Al Arabiya We Seek a Security Agreement with Syria

Khaberni - Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, in an exclusive interview with Al Arabiya English on Wednesday, stated that his government is seeking a "security agreement with Syria," denying that Israel has any "territorial ambitions in Syria," according to him.

Saar emphasized that "any security agreement with Syria must take into account the situation in the south," adding that "concluding a security agreement with Syria will benefit both parties."

The Israeli minister clarified to Al Arabiya English that the recent meeting with the American special envoy to Lebanon and Syria, Tom Barrack, "focused on Syria and Turkey."

Saar denied that the meeting with Barrack discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Regarding the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the Israeli minister announced to Al Arabiya English that Tel Aviv "wants to move to the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, but the arms of Hamas movement represent an obstacle."

Regarding Lebanon, Saar considered in his interview with Al Arabiya English that "Israeli army attacks against Hezbollah do not violate Lebanon's sovereignty," in his words.

The Israeli Foreign Minister accused Hezbollah of violating Lebanon's sovereignty, according to his statements.

Saar stressed that "eliminating Hezbollah will return Lebanon to its people," according to his vision.

The minister mentioned that "the disagreements with Lebanon are simple and can be resolved," expressing his government's desire for "normalization with Lebanon, and overcoming the disagreements."
