Khaberni - The General Command of Sharjah Police in the UAE recorded more than 30,000 violations since the implementation of the decision to regulate the use of lanes designated for motorcycles, including delivery bikes, as well as heavy vehicles and buses, which came into effect starting from November 1st, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance traffic safety on the roads of the Emirate.
The Sharjah Police confirmed that the detected violations resulted from some drivers not adhering to mandatory driving lines and designated lanes for each category of vehicles, according to the federal traffic law, which stipulates in Article (8) a fine of 1500 dirhams and 12 traffic points for non-compliance of heavy vehicles with the mandatory driving line, while Article 70 imposes a fine of 500 dirhams for non-compliance with traffic signs and instructions.
It also confirmed that monitoring operations continue via smart radars and modern cameras, alongside traffic patrols, in order to ensure the implementation of regulations that achieve the highest levels of safety for all road users.
The General Command of Sharjah Police invites all road users, including motorcycle and heavy vehicle drivers and bus drivers, to adhere to the designated lanes and follow traffic instructions, emphasizing that compliance directly contributes to protecting lives, enhancing traffic flow, and creating a safer road environment for everyone.
