Jordan Food and Drug Authority closes an unlicensed Jameed warehouse in Amman

Khaberni - The General Corporation for Food and Drug, in cooperation with the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection in the capital region, closed an unlicensed Jameed warehouse that was not complying with the health conditions approved by the authority, in the capital Amman.

The authority clarified in a press release that its inspection and control teams seized the entire quantity of Jameed, originating from two neighboring countries, estimated at about 25 tons, after finding it stored under inappropriate health conditions, showing signs of decay such as mold and discoloration. The authority added that it had taken custody of the entire quantity in preparation for its destruction according to regulations, and referred the violators to the competent judicial authorities to take the necessary legal action against them.

The authority urges citizens not to buy food products except from licensed establishments that are subject to regular monitoring by the authority.
